Hello! I am Taryn, the owner of Moonstone Studio. I chose the name Moonstone Studio intentionally. Moonstone is the birthstone of my first born. It is a protective stone that promotes many benefits that resonate with me. Moonstone is a symbol of dreams and I am living my dream with Moonstone Studio.
Moonstone promotes balance, and while I love being a photographer, I also love being a wife and Mom to 3 sons. I seek balance in my work, creativity, and home life and this space allows me to do so. I promise that by seeking this balance I will give your photoshoot the time and attention that it deserves during and after.
In my past years I've worked as a Recreational Therapist, working with people with all abilities and adolescents in treatment. I also worked as a substance use disorder counselor. All of that is to say, I love working with people from all different backgrounds and all abilities! Worried your teenage son might roll his eyes during the shoot, I had 40 of those teenage boys at once I had to get hyped about hiking so I got it! Have a family member that processes at a different speed or who doesn’t like physical touch, not a problem, we will adapt and go with the flow!
Speaking of going with the flow- my 3 sons also help me learn to go with the flow. They are loud and wild and messy and my biggest blessings. I am no stranger to being ready to pull the shutter release in a quick second to get that fleeting moment. I have 3 boys ages 5-10 (but I also had them ages 1-5 and know how I have to be fast).
They are my pride and joy and the reason I stay motivated to live my best life. I think about the love I have for my own family when taking family portraits and I truly try my best to convey the love you have for your family in your pictures too because I know it’s a scream from the rooftops make your heart feel like bursting out of your chest type of love.
